- Do you follow a creed? Disciples of Christ have no creed but the message of Jesus.
- Do you perform gay weddings? Our pastors are inclusive in every respect and offer marriage to all who request it and successfully go through a process of preparation.
- Do you practice open communion? Christ’s table is open to all; you do not need to be a formal member of this church to receive holy communion.
- Are children welcome in worship? We encourage families to participate in worship together. Families with young children are assigned “grandparents” to assist as needed, to assure that parents can participate meaningfully, and to take young children out and attend to them if they become too restless..
- Do you pledge allegiance to the flag? We do not have a US flag on our property as we pledge ultimate allegiance to the realm of God. We have no pledge as part of worship. Individual members may pledge at athletic and other public events.
- Do you have a dress code for worship? Dress is casual and up to the individual.
- Do you welcome musical gifts in worship? Our worship intentionally includes the diverse gifts of members. On different Sundays of the month, we have a drum circle, folk music, and hymn singing during the half-hour before worship time for those who are interested.
- Are you part of a denomination? We are part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), which began on the American frontier in the 1800s. Read more about this movement here. We are part of the Indiana Region. Although we connect with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), our congregation is operated locally by a governing board and remains independent in our decision making and polity.
